![]() So if its a $100 card that seller is trying to make $26 profit for you wanting to buy on a grey market site or from a reseller rather then directly in the client or going out in person and buying from a local store that sells them directly from Valve.Īll those others that sell cards are resellers trying to make a profit so they obtain the cards at face value then mark up the price to make a profit so that you the end user has to pay them more.Ībout the only way it would ever be lower then face value on the resale market is pretty much if somebody was abusing regional pricing to buy it cheaper from a different region but Valve has done a lot to lock that down by making cards locked to the currency they were purchased in so people cant use the exchange rate to their benefits. Unless you are buying directly from Valve in the client or directly from like a box store retailer that sells gift cards you are unlikely to find a 1 to 1 ratio of money on the card vs purchase cost. ![]()
